To publicize its “Together in Education” (TIE) program and encourage customers to try its private label products, Matthews, N.C.-based Harris Teeter has launched the Together in Education $100,000 Giveaway to reward shoppers for supporting the program.
Each week of the contest, which runs through April 2, Harris Teeter’s TIE Prize Patrol will distribute a cash prize up to $10,000 per winner, known as the “weekly contestant,” at the contestant’s home. If the weekly contestant doesn’t earn the entire $10,000 cash prize, the TIE Prize Patrol will visit alternative weekly contestants until the entire prize is given out for that contest week. Every VIC (“Very Important Customer” program) household linked to a school in the TIE program can take part.
When the TIE Prize Patrol visits a weekly contestant’s home, he or she will automatically receive $250, and the grocer will donate $250 to the TIE school to which the weekly contestant’s VIC card is linked. The weekly contestant will also get $50 for every Harris Teeter brand product found in his or her home, up to 95 products. Harris Teeter will then donate the equivalent prize to the winner's chosen TIE school.
Eligible private label products are sold in the grocer’s stores under the Harris Teeter, Harris Teeter Farmers Market, Harris Teeter Organics, Harris Teeter Pharmacy, Harris Teeter yourbaby, Harris Teeter yourhome, Harris Teeter yourpet, Harris Teeter yourtot, Highland Crest, HT Traders, Hunter Farms and Top Care brands.
Drawings will take place every Wednesday during the contest period; the TIE Prize Patrol will surprise the weekly contestant at his/her home between 10 a.m. EST and 8 p.m. EST every Saturday during that time. Weekly contestants don’t need to be present to receive the initial $250 prize.
