HEB Rolls Out New Promos on Web Site

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- H.E. Butt Grocery Co. here is advertising several new promotions on its Web site, including a 3-A-Day dairy program that rewards shoppers for their dairy purchases, and a tie-in to a local African-American celebration.

"Moo La La," the HEB Dairy Dollars Program, is an initiative in which customers are rewarded for purchasing their "3-A-Day" of dairy products. Shoppers earn one HEB Dairy Dollars point every time they purchase $15 of milk, cheese, or yogurt in a single visit. Once they collect four points, they receive a $10 HEB gift card.

In another program, the regional retailer HEB is celebrating "Juneteenth," a special occasion in Texas held on June 19, in which people of all races gather to celebrate African-American freedom, history, and culture. The retailer is working with Sylvia's Soul Food on the promotion, which includes recipes on the Web site.

"Juneteenth" acknowledges the dubious distinction Texas has of announcing the long-overdue news of President Abraham Lincoln's 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, two years later on June 19, 1865.
