Christmas will last all year long for loyal HEB customer Irma Teeters, who has become the grand-prize winner in the Texas grocer’s “Countdown to Christmas” sweepstakes. Teeters’ prize is a year’s worth of free groceries, valued at $5,200, from her favorite grocery chain.

“I love everything about my HEB,” gushed the 74-year-old Laredo resident. “I just couldn’t believe it when they told me I had won. This is the perfect Christmas gift. Thank you, HEB.”

The sweepstakes ran in all Laredo HEB stores between Nov. 11 and Dec. 20 to mark the Lone Star State company’s 80 years of serving that community, and its gratitude to shoppers there for their continued support. Teeters entered the sweepstakes in November at her preferred local store.

Each week during the contest period, the grocer gave away more than $1,000 in prizes, among them $500 in HEB Gift Cards and tickets to see the San Antonio Spurs, to winning shoppers at every Laredo location. The sweepstakes also coincided with November’s grand reopening of HEB’s newly renovated Laredo #3 store at 4801 San Dario.

Employing over 70,000 associates and serving millions of shoppers in more than 150 communities, San Antonio-based HEB operates over 300 stores in Texas and Mexico.
