AUSTIN, Minn. -- Hormel Foods Corp. here launched a new corporate Web site, HormelFoods.com, and a new recipe site, HormelFoodsRecipes.com.

"This is the next generation in our online presence," said Jeffrey M. Ettinger, Hormel's chairman of the board, president and c.e.o. "It demonstrates the company's commitment to providing the best information possible to a variety of audiences. We are excited about the fresh look and the inclusion of a separate recipe site highlighting the versatility of our products."

HormelFoodsRecipes.com features a refined, simplified recipe search as well as viral video vignettes. The recipe site is integrated with the corporate site to drive product and cross-category awareness. The recipe site will be enhanced with innovative features demonstrating the ongoing commitment of Hormel Foods to provide consumer-relevant content.

Hormel Foods changed its Web address from Hormel.com to HormelFoods.com to accurately distinguish between its corporate presence in HormelFoods.com and its new brand site, Hormel.com, which will be launched in the near future.

In other news, 22 of Hormel's facilities have been recognized for environmental achievements by the American Meat Institute (AMI).

The Environmental Recognition Awards (MAPS) provides recognition for companies dedicated to Environment Management Systems (EMS) development and implementation, according to AMI's Web site.

Hormel Foods and its subsidiaries are committed to operating all facilities in accordance with company environmental policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

"Environmental responsibility and sustainability have always been a priority for Hormel Foods," said William F. Snyder, Hormel's s.v.p./supply chain. "This year's appointment of Dennis Boik to director of environmental sustainability gives Hormel Foods an even stronger focus on our key initiatives regarding sustainability and environmental stewardship in the communities in which we live and do business."

"AMI's recognition and support of sustainability as such an important topic to the meat industry proves how significant AMI's members take their environmental responsibilities," said Boik said. "We...continue to improve and refine our sustainability efforts."
