Hy-Vee stores throughout the Midwest will once again honor America’s veterans on Veterans Day this Thursday with a free breakfast in appreciation of their service to the country.
What started as a promotional event offered by a few stores has become a company-wide tradition, said Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee’s president and COO. “Our Veterans Day Breakfast is one of the most rewarding activities Hy-Vee sponsors each year,” Edeker said. “It gives us an opportunity to thank our veterans for all the sacrifices they made to secure our freedom.”
The buffet is complimentary for veterans and open to others at a nominal cost. Some stores have planned programs, displays, entertainment or other activities to go along with the breakfast.
West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee Inc. operates 231 retail stores in eight Midwestern states.
