Brookshire Grocery Co. Honors Military Vets for 10th Year

Brookshire Grocery Co. recently completed its 10th-annual "Heroes Flight," which honors those who served in World War II and the Korean War by funding a four-day trip for 30 veterans to visit the Washington, D.C. memorials.

“While we can never truly repay these heroes for the sacrifices they made to defend our freedoms, the Heroes Flight trips are just one way we can express our sincere gratitude,” said Rick Rayford, Brookshire's president/CEO. “Most of the veterans have never had a chance to see their memorials, and we are thrilled to be able provide this opportunity once again for such a deserving group of people.”

Brookshire's has now escorted more than 300 WWII and Korean War veterans to Washington, D.C. since establishing the Heroes Flight program in 2010.

Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 151 stores in three states -- Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas -- with three distribution centers and five manufacturing facilities.
