The United Family Donates $45K to Project Graduation

The United Family is helping students stay safe during their graduation celebrations this spring by donating more than $45,000 to Project Graduation, an organization that aims to reduce the number of youth involved in alcohol- and other drug-related highway accidents through coordinating adult-supervised, alcohol-free celebrations for students.

The donation, which exceeds last year's total by 18 percent, will support celebrations at 65 high schools in West Texas and Dallas-Fort Worth.

“Graduation season is an important and memorable time for students, and we are proud to contribute to making those celebrations special, as well as safe for the young adults in the communities we serve,” said Shelby Crews, senior community relations manager for The United Family.

The United Family, based in Lubbock, Texas, operates 67 stores under five banners: United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos, Albertsons Market and United Express, along with ancillary operations R.C. Taylor Distributing, Praters and Llano Logistics.
