United Family's 'Pink Tuesdays' Raising Funds for Breast Cancer

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, The United Family will host its Pink Tuesdays promotion, an effort to raise funds for research and awareness, at its United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos and Albertsons Market locations across north and west Texas.

On Tuesdays during October, the Lubbock, Texas-based grocer will donate $1 for every guest wearing pink who makes a purchase of $10 or more, up to $10,000. Guests can also purchase pink reusable shopping bags for $2 each, with $1 from each sale allocated for research.

“Each year, we work to raise funds to fight breast cancer and work toward a cure,” said Shelby Crews, senior community relations manager for The United Family. “Breast cancer affects all communities, and we are proud to do our part to raise awareness among guests in order to educate and empower women and men to take charge of their own breast health.”

A subsidiary of Albertson's LLC, The United Family operates 66 stores under the United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos, Albertsons Market and United Express banners, along with ancillary operations R.C. Taylor Distributing, Praters and Llano Logistics.
