AG New England Ups Plamondon to Dir. Meat & Seafood Procurement

Associated Grocers of New England said it has promoted Robin Plamondon to the newly created position of director of meat and seafood procurement.

Plamondon was a meat department manager at Hannaford before coming to AG New England as a meat buyer/merchandiser. She has been the meat purchasing manager at the company for the past five years.

"In this new position Robin will have an opportunity to utilize her knowledge and years of experience in the retail and wholesale environment to benefit both AG New England and our retailers," said the distributor's v.p. wholesale merchandising & procurement, Richard Wheeler, to whom Plamondon reports. "With the extremely competitive nature of our business, it is vitally important to have someone with Robin's ability, talent, creativity, and leadership continually supporting our creed of delivering the right products, to the right customer, at the right time, and for the right price. Her seven years here have also given her an in-depth knowledge of our retailers, suppliers, internal systems and procedures."

Pembroke, N.H.-based AG New England, owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative, is the largest retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in New England. The company serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area, including almost 500 supermarkets and convenience retail stores.
