AmeriCold Opens in Former Winn-Dixie DC in Charlotte, N.C.
ATLANTA – AmeriCold, a third-party supplier of temperature-controlled supply chain solutions based here, is opening its second Charlotte, N.C. facility in a former Winn-Dixie distribution center. AmeriCold has invested close to $4 million in this 400,000-square-foot facility, which has more than 6.6 million cubic feet of freezer capacity (equating to 20,250 pallet positions) and over 4.5 million cubic feet of cooler space (9,500 pallet positions).
The Schwan Food Co. is among the customers that will are using AmeriCold's new Southeastern logistics hub.
"Charlotte is an ideal location to service both the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast markets economically," said Chris Hughes, group v.p. of supply chain solutions, AmeriCold, in a statement. "This distribution facility allows AmeriCold to continue to anticipate and meet customer demand and strategically complements our national network."
