A&P to Extend Insignia POPSign Program

MONTVALE, N.J. -- The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. here has signed a three-year corporate agreement with Minneapolis-based Insignia Systems, Inc. to extend its participation in the Insignia POPSign program.

A&P already features the program in 382 stores under eight retail banners: A&P, Waldbaum's, A&P Super Foodmart, The Food Emporium, Super Fresh, Farmer Jack, Sav-A-Center, and Food Basics.

Through its Point-Of-Purchase Services (POPS) business, Insignia is contracted with more than 12,000 chain retail supermarkets and drug stores, among them A&P, Kroger, Pathmark, Safeway, and Rite Aid. Through the nationwide POPS network, more than 190 major CPG manufacturers, including General Mills, Kellogg Co., Nestle, Pfizer, Reckitt Benckiser, S.C. Johnson & Son, and Tyson Foods, have taken their brand messages to the point of purchase.
