Associated Wholesale Grocers of Kansas City Goes Live with Web-Based Procurement

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. of Kansas City (AWG) had successfully gone live with AquiTec's Procurement solutions in its newly acquired Memphis division.

AWG, a retailer-owned grocery wholesaler serving more than 1,200 stores in a 21-state distribution area, had been a customer of AquiTec since 2001, running the supply chain execution provider's procurement solution in its limited assortment division. The strong results of the implementation led to AWG's decision to further deploy the solution.

AWG chose to implement AquiTec's solutions to enable it to handle traditional supply-chain activities with greater effectiveness. In addition, AWG anticipates generating new revenue and growth opportunities through improved operational efficiencies in the fulfillment areas.

"The AquiTec solutions give us a best-of-breed application set with great business functionality," said Keith Martin, c.i.o. of AWG. "It will drive efficiencies in the way we manage supply-chain activities."

AquiTec's Order Management and Billing solution will manage AWG end-to-end visibility from receiving through to the invoicing of customer orders. The Procurement application will administer the supplier relationship from forecasting through to PO and deal management.

AWG also planes to implement Aquitec's Procurement and Order Management in its other distribution center facilities.
