Brookshire's New ERP System Reduces Costs, Streamlines Ops

Brookshire Grocery Co. said it's already seeing positive results from its recent installation of an enterprise-wide system it is using to unify its disparate systems, consolidate data management, enhance reporting, and allow its employees to contribute to value-added activities.

The grocer is using the SAP for Retail solution portfolio in its streamlining efforts. "SAP has provided us with the necessary tools and functionality to meet our current business needs and yet at the same time provide the flexibility for growth," said John D'Anna, v.p., information technology planning and strategy for Brookshire.

"Our staff can now access real-time, up-to-date data for helping them make better decisions," D'Anna Said. "The SAP for Retail solutions facilitate a better definition of assortments, vendor selection, buying decisions, and store distribution. The solution portfolio is also helping Brookshire transition from a traditional, buyer-focused process to a management model that is focused on the individual customers at our particular stores."

The SAP for Retail solution portfolio was developed to help food retailers manage a range of grocery-related business processes, optimize product assortment, enhance service, and speed up checkout.
