Educational Program at Super Floral Show Expands

BOSTON - The organizers of the Super Floral Show here have grown the event’s education program, which is designed to help supermarkets and other retailers grow their floral businesses.

The program complements The Super Floral Show’s exhibition, with 400 exhibitors showing products in more than 60 product categories. The education program will take place on June 22, 2005 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The exhibition is open June 23 through June 25, 2005.

The program is segmented in four tracks -- The Business of Floral; Marketing and Merchandising; Opportunities for Growth; and Focus on Garden Centers. This year’s expanded program includes 19 sessions designed to empower volume retailers and suppliers to identify growth opportunities, generate repeat business, and increase efficiency and profitability.

Highlighting the program will be an instructive luncheon keynote entitled “Ethnic Marketing: Why, When and Who,” presented by Pam Smith, director of marketing for Nature’s Flowers. “Extensive research indicates that there is a growing need for floral products that address the ethnic customer,” Smith said in a statement.

Other sessions cover topics such as training, category management, transportation and logistics, signage, and outdoor selling.

The Super Floral Show is held annually at alternating locations throughout North America, and is focused on high-volume floral operations.
