Former Wyeth Exec. Joins GMDC to Support Membership Programs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Nonfoods trade association General Merchandise Distributors Council (GMDC) last week hired Keith G. Wypyszynski as v.p. of business development/chief member officer to lead its efforts in developing and driving new and existing programs that manage and enhance the association's member experience.

In his new role, Wypyszynski will serve as a member advocate by working with departments cross-functionally across GMDC to ensure a seamless, successful member experience, the trade group said. Specific areas of focus include member advocacy, loyalty, and retention programs; development of marketing programs that drive the GMDC brand and member services programs; program/product development within the GMDC Educational Foundation and GMDC's marketing conferences; and creating business strategies for maximizing member and GMDC corporate value.

In his more than 25 years with pharmaceutical manufacturer Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, Wypyszynski has served in a number of senior management capacities. In the mid 1990s, he played key roles in the integration of both the A.H. Robins and Lederle Consumer Healthcare businesses into Wyeth. In 1997, he was named s.v.p. of sales for the company, and served in this position until 2000 when he was named s.v.p. of its U.S. Analgesic Business Unit. Most recently he served as Wyeth's s.v.p. of trade development where he was responsible for Wyeth's industry affairs and retail development
