GMA Names Senior Director Federal Affairs

The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) has appointed LaDavia S. Drane as its senior director, federal affairs, effective Dec. 20.

“LaDavia comes to us with a solid background in politics, legal, legislative and regulatory policy,” noted GMA president and CEO Pamela G. Bailey. “Her most recent work in the House of Representatives involving childhood obesity policy makes her the ideal person to build upon GMA’s important health and nutrition mission.”

Drane previously worked in the office of U.S. Rep. Marcia L. Fudge (D-Ohio) as legislative counsel. Before that she was director of legislative and regulatory policy for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), an attorney at Ulmer & Berne LLP and a field organizer for Obama for America. She was also an extern for the Honorable Judge Solomon Oliver Jr. of the U.S. District Court Northern District of Ohio.

Washington-based GMA consists of more than 300 leading food, beverage and consumer product companies.
