Harris Teeter Transfers its Online Shopping Software and Systems to MyWebGrocer

Harris Teeter has transferred the support of its online shopping service to the MyWebGrocer Internet Shopping Solution and eCRM systems. Harris Teeter, who began offering online grocery shopping in August 2000, transitioned to MyWebGrocer when its supplier announced financial difficulties.

Britt Hothersall, Harris Teeter's home shopping coordinator, said, "MyWebGrocer's system is easier for our consumers to use and it offers us flexibility as we grow with the program. The system also allowed us to transfer our business quickly and without any interruption for our customers. We're pleased to be working with MyWebGrocer, which has a great deal of experience in this industry with a number of different clients."

MyWebGrocer President Mike Spindler said, "We are delighted to welcome Harris Teeter to our growing family of regional and community chains and independents. This group of supermarkets clearly understands that convenience is of growing importance in the arsenal of competitive tools to win customer loyalty. The consumer direct channel is central to any move toward a 'convenience, high service' strategy. Harris Teeter is quite encouraged with customer adoption and wanted to take advantage of that consumer enthusiasm."
