Heinen's Fine Foods Boosts Loss Prevention Capabilities with Trax

WARRENSVILLE HTS., Ohio - Heinen’s Fine Foods, a family owned and operated business with 15 stores in the Cleveland area, has tapped Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Trax Retail Solutions for its ShrinkTrax and DM2 data mining solutions for Loss Prevention.

The loss prevention solutions will be launched in all 15 Heinen's locations.

"The loss prevention discipline uses data for forensic analysis to improve processes and enhance profitability," John Guenther, Heinen’s dir. of loss prevention told Progressive Grocer. "ShrinkTrax provides a comprehensive tool that helps us as investigators and trainers. Our operations staff also benefits through the coaching process, which helps us leverage the talents of our people."

ShrinkTrax is a proactive loss prevention solution that targets cashier and vendor-related shrink before it happens. The intelligence-based technology automatically analyzes data points throughout the retail store and provides managers and district managers with exclusive, plain-English narrative action plans targeting their most urgent shrink problems, as well as providing suggestions for corrective action by managers. "It provides a tool to analyze productivity, which supports our training goals," said Guenther. "This maps to our focus on improving operational excellence."

The DM2 Advanced Data Mining solution is an enterprise exception reporting and open query system that removes the guesswork from traditional exception reporting practices.

Other retailers employing ShrinkTrax solutions include Albertsons, Ahold USA, Farm Fresh Markets, and Cub Foods.
