Hospitality Industry's Top Execs to Converge for Diversity Leadership Conference.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (MFHA), a nonprofit organization promoting the economic benefits of diversity in the industry, is set to present its "Decade of Diversity" Tenth Anniversary Conference and Gala Dinner Aug. 6 to Aug. 8 at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge in Boston.

The only event of its kind within the foodservice and hospitality industry, MFHA's annual conference allows top executives to collaboratively look at where diversity initiatives of the last decade have succeeded and strategize how to effectively apply these achievements towards future growth.

"It's been an exciting 20 years, but we have a long way to go," said MFHA president and founder Gerry Fernandez in a statement. "In order to improve national economic performance in our sectors, we need to continue to see minority business ownership increase, minority career profiles advance, and cross-cultural communication improve. This conference is the only place where so many of our peers can join together and brainstorm on how we can take it to the next level."

Drawing on the expertise of minority community leaders and top foodservice and hospitality professionals, "Decade of Diversity" will feature such speakers as Fred Canady, v.p. of supplier diversity for the Pepsi-Cola Co.; Jon Luther, c.e.o. of Dunkin' Brands; Juliette T. Okotie-Eboh, v.p. of community affairs for MGM Grand Detroit Casino; Vijay K. Sharma, v.p. of information systems and technology for Sodexho USA; Richard Snead, president and c.e.o. of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, Inc.; and Don Thompson, e.v.p. and c.o.o. of McDonald's USA, LLC.
