Kraft Singles, Weber Team for Better Summer Grilling

Since a national survey from Kraft Singles found that cleaning the grill tops the list of hated household chores, the brand has joined forces with Weber-Stephen Products LLC, the world’s leading manufacturer of outdoor gas and charcoal grills.

“The perfect grilling experience really comes down to timing,” explained Kevin Kolman, grilling expert at Palatine, Ill.-based Weber. “Something as simple as when you put the cheese on your burger, for example, can mean the difference between a quick cleanup or a daunting mess.”

“The type of cheese is also key,” added Robin Ross, associate director of Kraft Kitchens at the Northfield, Ill.-based food company. “Kraft Singles are the perfect burger companion because of their quick, consistent melt and delicious taste.”

According to the survey, about 80 percent of consumers who eat burgers top them with cheese. Experts at Kraft Kitchens and Weber recommend applying the cheese just before the burger is taken from the grill for the best cheese melt and minimal cleanup. However, about one in four (24 percent) cheeseburger eaters add the cheese either after the burger is removed from the grill or after the first flip. These methods can result in an uneven melt or cause the cheese to ooze down into the grates.

Though August, consumers can find high-value savings from Kraft Singles at grocery retailers nationwide. Select grocers will also host parking lot barbecues and grill giveaways. Details of local events are available online at the Kraft Singles Facebook page.

Additionally, through Aug. 14, shoppers can win top-of-the-line grilling essentials through one of three 30-day Like2Win Sweepstakes. Consumers can enter for a chance to win at the Kraft Singles Facebook page. Throughout the summer, the brand will give away nearly 3,000 Weber grills and 1,600 sets of Weber grill tools.
