Kroger Carrying Fresh Omega-3 Eggs

CINNCINNATI -- The Kroger Co. here is upping its dose of Omega-3 essential fatty acids, by introducing Christopher Eggs, which offer an alternative to fish oil or supplements, for consumers who want to increase their consumption of healthful Omega-3 oil.

Christopher Eggs, now available in Kroger stores, contain 6.5 percent less cholesterol per egg than standard eggs. The suppliers claims that the eggs provide the only 1:1 ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids on the market.

Additional benefits of Christopher Eggs, according to the company, include reduced overall saturated fat and added Vitamin E, lutein for better eyes, iodine for thyroid function, selenium for disease prevention, and choline to manage fats.

"Christopher Eggs make it easy for people to incorporate Omega-3 into
their diets, because eggs are universal in the cooking world," said
Michael Hawes, Christopher Eggs' president. "And being available at
the Kroger Company significantly widens our reach to people in search
of an Omega-3 alternative."

Christopher Eggs (http://www.christophereggs.com) are a product of Belovo, Inc., USA of Pinehurst, N.C. and are produced by hens at Rose Acre Farms in Seymour, Ind., the second largest producer of eggs in the U.S.

Kroger operates over 2,500 supermarkets in 32 states under two-dozen banners.
