Lisa Kent Promoted to CEO of Netgrocer

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Netgrocer, a nationwide online retailer and e-commerce service provider, announced today the promotions of Lisa Kent, 38, to CEO and Wayne Marshall, 48, to chief operating officer. Kent was also named to the company's board of directors.

Kent, who continues to serve as president, will transition many of the operational responsibilities associated with the online store to Marshall to increase her focus on corporate strategy, interaction with the investment community, and business development. Before joining the company in 2000 as vice president of consumer marketing, Kent spent eight years in marketing at Johnson & Johnson, most recently serving as executive director of E-Ventures for the baby and kids franchise. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, she worked in marketing for Nestle Baking and Procter & Gamble.

"Lisa has done a great job of leveraging Netgrocer's core strengths in e-commerce site development, hosting and fulfillment services to capitalize on new strategic opportunities for the company," said Mike Rosicki, CEO of Parmalat North America and newly elected chairman of Netgrocer's board of directors. "Her experience, as well as that brought by Wayne in his new role, is indispensable to the continued expansion of Netgrocer's turnkey technology solutions for companies such as Nestle and USA Detergents, which have recently retained the company to develop comprehensive website applications for their foodservice and commercial businesses."

Marshall, who joined Netgrocer in January 2001 as vice president of merchandising, will focus primarily on the sales and development of Netgrocer's Endless Aisle service for retailers, as well as the company's day-to-day operations. Before joining the company, Marshall served as senior vice president for merchandising and marketing at Big V Supermarkets (previously a division of Wakefern). Prior to Big V, Marshall spent 28 years with Dominick's Finer Foods of Chicago, where he held a variety of marketing and merchandising positions.

"Wayne has brought tremendous energy and experience, as well as vast knowledge of the brick-and-mortar grocery channel to Netgrocer," said Kent. "His promotion is a recognition not only of his past contributions, but of his heightened role as we expand our presence in the manufacturer and retailer environments."
