From the NRF Show Floor: New Tech Deals Inked

NEW YORK - Several new customer contracts were announced by various technology companies during the National Retail Federation Show here this week. Among the announcements:

-- Lawson Software, Inc., a St. Paul, Minn.-based business process software solutions company, announced that East Coast retailer Pathmark Stores has upgraded to Lawson's 8.03 Financials and Procurement suites. The upgrade will provide Pathmark with a solution that will integrate with Lawson Merchandising, which helps high-volume retailers increase net profitability by managing costs, improving operational efficiency, and supporting revenue growth.

-- Manugistics Group, Inc. announced that Publix Super Markets has selected its solutions for the grocer's supply chain management infrastructure.

-- TCI Solutions, Inc. announced that K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. has saved or reallocated approximately 500 man-hours per week and increased price integrity since implementing the company's headquarters pricing solution. The Abingdon, Va.-based grocer implemented TCI Retail HQ, and is using the company's Retail Execution System as its foundation and central repository for managing all item and vendor information. K-VA-T also utilizes TCI's Price generation and Frequent Shopper modules to create pricing rules for more than 90 percent of its products, and to transmit prices from HQ to all of its 86 Food City retail stores.

-- Finally, SAP AG announced that Brookshire Grocery Co. will implement mySAP Business Suite to integrate operations at its corporate headquarters, 152 retail locations, and six manufacturing facilities. Brookshire anticipates that the implementation will help improve productivity by eliminating redundant processes, giving store managers access to timely, accurate information, and more effectively managing operational and manufacturing processes. The project will replace legacy systems with an integrated financials, manufacturing, HR, and payroll solution.
