Ohio Grocers' Jackson Gets Local Lifetime Achievement Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Tom Jackson, president and c.e.o. of the Ohio Grocers Association here, was recently honored with the Publisher's Award for Lifetime Achievement by Tri-State Food News, a regional trade newspaper covering Western Pa., West Virginia and Ohio.

In his 48 years in the food industry, Jackson has owned and operated a specialty store and supermarket, has consulted for retail food merchants ranging from convenience store operators to regional supermarket chains. He has also lobbied the Ohio General Assembly on behalf of the Ohio food industry.

"Having spent 20 years with the Ohio Grocers Association has provided many and diverse opportunities to serve the grocery industry," said Jackson. "I am very fortunate to be recognized for something that I enjoy so much and have had a great deal of support from others."

The Ohio Grocers Association is a statewide trade group representing more than 700 retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and suppliers.
