Roundy’s Rallies for Cause-Oriented Reusable Pink Bags

During the ongoing commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, customers of Roundy’s Supermarkets’ Pick ’n Save, Copps, Rainbow and Metro Market stores have the opportunity to help fund research while also helping the environment by purchasing pink reusable bags on sale during October at all stores operated by the Milwaukee-based retailer.

Made of 100 percent recyclable material and available for 99 cents each, the new pink bags continue Roundy’s long-standing commitment to breast cancer research, which coincides with Roundy's annual support of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Milwaukee. At this year’s event, which took place late last month, the company and several of its vendors donated more than $21,000 in fruit, snacks and drinks for race participants. Additionally, 45 Roundy’s employees formed a team during the race to raise additional funds.

The new pink bags also add to Roundy’s eco-friendly selection of reusable bags offered for sale to help reduce the impact of plastic bags on landfills. In addition, customers who shop with reusable bags at any Roundy’s store receive a five-cent credit for each reusable bag used to pack their groceries.

With nearly $4 billion in sales and more than 19,000 employees, Roundy’s Supermarkets operates 153 retail grocery stores under the Pick ’n Save, Copps, Rainbow and Metro Market banners in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
