Stella D'oro Signs Distribution Agreement with Snyder's of Hanover

BRONX, N.Y. -- Stella D'oro Co. here said yesterday that it has signed a strategic distribution agreement with Snyder's of Hanover to handle direct store delivery of the Stella D'oro cookie and breadstick product line. Although Snyder's will be handling the Stella D'oro line in select geographic territories in much of the eastern United States, Stella D'oro will continue to operate its one-step DSD system in the metro New York market.

According to Stella D'oro president and c.e.o. John Dowers in a statement, "Snyder's exceptional DSD operation makes it a perfect match for Stella D'oro."

Added Snyder's president Carl E. Lee Jr.: "The Snyder's of Hanover team is looking forward to the opportunity to represent the Stella D'oro brand at retail and work with their talented organization. It's a natural fit for our DSD system and leverages our commitment to provide quality in-store service to all of our customers along the East coast."

The Kraft/Nabisco DSD operation currently handles Stella D'oro's distribution, and will continue to do so for several more months. Stella D'oro and Snyder's expect to change over the distribution in fall 2006.

A manufacturer of cookies, breakfast treats, biscotti, and breadsticks, Stella D'oro is distributed through grocery stores, supermarkets, drug stores, specialty food stores and other retail locations.
