Stop & Shop, Giant Food Team With General Mills to Help Beat Breast Cancer

QUINCY, Mass. -- The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co., Giant Food, and General Mills have joined forces to donate $75,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure with the "Pink for the Cure Program," which rolls out Friday.

"[B]y purchasing 'Pink for the Cure' items at Stop & Shop or Giant, customers can support the fight against breast cancer and help us donate to this worthy organization," said Stop & Shop/Giant consumer advisor Andrea Astrachan.

As well as the General Mills "Pink for the Cure" products in stores, shoppers can purchase pink reusable shopping bags. A limited number of bags are available at each Stop & Shop and Giant location, and the bag's manufacturer, Commerce, Calif.-based Earthwise, also will make a donation to Komen for each bag bought.
