VNU Marketing Information Acquires Decisions Made Easy

NEW YORK -- VNU Marketing Information, a business unit of VNU, a global information and media company, yesterday acquired Decisions Made Easy (DME), an international company dedicated to helping consumer-packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers effectively manage, analyze, present and act on their sales and supply chain data through the use of its software and services.

Decisions Made Easy software was developed to help CPG sales teams manage the enormous amount of data now available and turn it into supply chain and marketing insights for themselves and the retailers they serve. These data include a growing array of market and supply chain information sources such as electronic point of sale (EPOS) from retailers, supply shipments, space planning, and consumer behavior/demographics. The DME software enables the measurement and analysis of daily, store-by-store EPOS data behind the client's firewall.

"DME is a great strategic fit for VNU Marketing Information as we further strengthen our role as a provider of insightful and 'decision-ready' marketing and consumer information to our clients," noted Tom Markert, chief marketing and client service officer, VNU Marketing Information. "When we talked to DME clients they told us that DME makes technology work quickly and efficiently to help them not just build databases, but build their businesses."
