Wakefern Takes a Dip in the Data Pool

EDISON, N.J. -- Wakefern Food Corp., a retail cooperative with over 190 stores in the Northeast, will begin pilot activities with a recipient data pool for its data synchronization efforts.

Wakefern's is the tenth retailer to join the Transora global community of food and consumer product manufacturers and retailers. "Data synchronization is a foundational technology for both retailers and manufacturers," said Alan Aront, v.p., Wakefern's information services division. "By partnering with Transora, we have underscored our commitment to increase supply chain efficiencies allowing us to work more closely with our trading partners."

"We chose Transora because of its premier customer community, as well as the advanced functionality offered in its recipient data pool solution," added Aront. "We anticipate many benefits for Wakefern, now and into the future, as the Transora community continues to synchronize more valuable supply chain data."

Transora synchronizes the supply chain by providing data pool solutions that enable retailers and manufacturers to exchange item information. In addition to its global data synchronization network (GDSN) data pool capabilities, Transora provides advanced functionality for both manufacturers and retailers that enables the synchronization of price and promotion and as well as new item introduction data.
