Wild Oats Taps 2 Meat Suppliers for Turnkey Program
BOULDER, Colo. -- Natural and organic foods retailer Wild Oats Markets last week said it has contracted with Harvest Meat Company and Sherwood Food Distributors to manage its nationwide naturalorganic protein distribution.
"The partnership we have entered into with Harvest Meat Company and Sherwood Foods [provides us with] a great opportunity for growth," said Kurt Luttecke, v.p. of meat, seafood, and foodservice for Wild Oats. "The availability of large inventories based at three major distribution points, 10 hub distribution centers, [allows] increased frequency of deliveries to our stores and our continued commitment to the highest quality of natural and organic foods for our customers."
The two suppliers will provide Wild Oats' stores with a full line of protein products, including beef, pork, poultry, seafood, veal, lamb, processed meats, and dairy. Harvest will supply stores in the Western United States, will Sherwood handling the retailer's Midwest and Eastern stores.
