Wild Oats Teams with Health Mag for Heart Health Campaign

BOULDER, Colo. - Natural and organic foods retailer Wild Oats this week formed a partnership with Charlotte, Vt.-based publication "Eating Well," to launch a campaign aimed at promoting promote heart health.

The campaign, "EatingWell for Healthy Hearts, presented by Wild Oats," will begin in January 2007, utilizing the combined print, online, and in-store resources of the two partners. Elements of the program will continue through April.

"Considering the high incidence of heart disease in this country, we can't educate consumers enough on the preventative role natural foods and products play in promoting hearth health," said Melissa Porter, senior director of retail marketing for Wild Oats.

During February, which is Heart Health Month, each of the 33 participating Wild Oats stores will host three events, which will include educational seminars featuring the EatingWell philosophy, and cooking demonstrations of recipes developed in EatingWell's Test Kitchen, using ingredients provided by various participating Wild Oats vendors. These heart-healthy recipes will appear in EatingWell, eatingwell.com, wildoats.com, and in a coupon booklet that will be distributed in-store.

Wild Oats operates 113 natural foods stores in 24 states and British Columbia, Canada. The company's banners include: Wild Oats Natural Marketplace, Henry's Farmers Markets, Sun Harvest, and Capers Community Markets.
