Andronico’s Launches FitMarket Healthy Living Program

Andronico’s is launching FitMarket, a new healthy living program in its five Bay Area stores. The kickoff of the program on Aug. 22 will feature store-sponsored fitness classes beginning at 9:30 a.m., in-store cooking demos, on-hand health coaches and foodie tours. A BBQ also will be featured with proceeds from the $5 plates going to partner Berkeley YMCA.

FitMarket is an effort to “bring healthy back,” according to Suzy Monford, CEO, by providing health coaching and nutrition and fitness guidance from experts. “Andronico’s FitMarket values are rooted in creating balance between how we shop, cook, eat, exercise and re-charge. To that end, look for well-rounded guidance from respected health coaches, nutritionists, food writers, chefs and fitness professionals throughout the store, and on our website,” she added.

“This is a program aimed at supporting our community,” said Bridget Kwok, director of marketing. “Our goal is that FitMarket events will become a place for community members to support one another in their fit living efforts.”

The retailer also is launching FitBank, an employee wellness program to incentivize staff to exercise regularly.
