Burns Family Fresh Grocer Raise $5K for Charity

The Fresh Grocer Supermarkets, owned by the Burns family operating in greater Philadelphia area, raised $5,000 during the month of March to benefit the Red Cross. Customers chose to donate $1, $3 or $5 at checkout. The final amount also included corporate donations. To encourage donations, signs were posted throughout the stores, employees wore campaign buttons, weekly circulars promoted the fundraiser and social media sites heralded the progress made by customers throughout the month.

“The overwhelming generosity of our customers combined with the dedication of our hardworking associates continues to make our Red Cross Month fundraiser a great success year after year,” said Patrick Burns, president and CEO of Burns Family Neighborhood Markets. Since launching the campaign four years ago, The Fresh Grocer Supermarkets have raised $38,500 for the Red Cross.
