Fairway Readies for Stamford, Conn., Grand Opening

Upscale operator Fairway Market will open a huge store packed with specialty products in Stamford, Conn., this week. The more than 80,000-square-foot location, which makes its official debut Nov. 3 at 9 a.m., is at 699 Canal Street.

Among the many features of the New York-based gourmet foods purveyor’s latest store are more than 600 artisanal cheeses; dozens of hot dishes made on-site; unfiltered barrel oils imported exclusively by Fairway from Spain, France, Portugal, Australia and California; coffee from all over the globe, roasted on premises; more than 8,000 traditional and organic groceries; a vast assortment of gluten-free items; homemade mozzarella, sushi, pasta and sausage; custom-cut meat and poultry; an in-house kosher butcher; hand-selected dry-aged beef; produce delivered directly from farms; more than 70 types of olives; scratch-made baked goods; organic and natural HBC products; a floral and plant department; an 80-seat café in a glass-enclosed area with a view of the store’s surroundings; a full-service catering department; and, occupying 6,500 square feet adjacent to the store, Fairway Wines and Spirits.

Fairway operates six other stores located in the following areas: the Manhattan neighborhoods of Harlem and the Upper West Side; the Brooklyn community of Redhook; Plainview, N.Y. on Long Island; the upstate town of Pelham Manor, N.Y.; and Paramus, N.J.
