Go Grocer to Open New Location at Loyola University

Go Grocer will open its fourth Chicagoland location on the campus of Loyola University in the Rogers Park neighborhood. Owners Greg and Paul Stellatos operate three other stores in Lakeview, Wicker Park and the South Loop neighborhoods.

The newest location, which will occupy space formerly housing part of the university’s bookstore, will offer fresh produce, groceries and ready-made sandwiches, salads and wraps. If a pending moratorium banning alcohol sales is lifted as anticipated, the newest Go Grocer will also offer wine, beer and a small selection of spirits.

The Stellatos have signed a 20-year lease with Loyola and the new store will accept the university’s Dining Dollars, which are part of students’ meal plans and can be spent at dining halls, food courts and coffee shops. Both brothers attended Loyola University and lived in the community before opening their first store in February 2008.

"I thought it was really great going back to my old school, my university," Greg Stellatos said in a local news story. "It should work out really well with the students on campus."

In addition to the grocery stores, Go Grocer also operates a central kitchen and Go Tavern, a bar/liquor store selling specialty craft beers and niche spirits.
