Gordy’s Market Rebrands for 50th Anniversary

Gordy’s County Market has rebranded itself as Gordy’s Market in honor of its upcoming 50th anniversary. The independent retailer, which remains committed to providing its communities with quality products at affordable prices, has added 10 stores within the last five years.

“With our growth, we’re expanding and entering new communities. We want to ensure our customers understand we are there to not only provide them with bottom line prices on quality products, but to also serve the community itself outside of the grocery store walls” said Jeff Schafer, president/CEO. “Our hope is that our new branding campaign will integrate our past, which we are proud of, with the future, which we are excited for.”

The decision to drop “County” from its name was undertaken to reflect the move the company has made into new markets. “We are not just serving counties anymore, we are serving communities,” Schafer added. “We are proud of our dad [Gordy], and we are going to be known as ‘Gordy’s Market.’”

The name change is reflected in two new logos that are promoted in print and digital advertisements as well as social media and in-store signage. The company also has introduced a new “G” symbol that will be used on sale items in the stores as well as in ads. With the debut of the three new logos, the retailer hopes the unified branding effort will provide a cohesive shopping experience.

Gordy’s other enterprises, which include Gordy’s Express and Gordy’s Valley Spirits as well as Donna Mae’s Bakery Products and Gordy’s Smokehouse Meats, also will be rebranded to fit with the new look and feel of Gordy’s Market.
