IGA Retailers Support Wounded Warrior Project

The Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA) said that 131 of its member retail stores serving the western United States will participate in a national cause marketing initiative to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

During this national promotion — which will run from Memorial Day weekend (May 27) through Labor Day weekend (Sept. 5) — IGA will donate 10 cents from the sale of every specially marked case of IGA brand water to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded servicemen and women.

"We are teaming up with the Wounded Warrior Project and the communities our stores serve to raise much-needed funding to help wounded service members with everything from physical health and wellness, counseling, family aid, and job assistance,” said Terry Carr, area director of western United States, IGA, Inc. “this is an important cause for our nation."

IGA's WWP campaign provides a way for individuals and communities to support those men and women who have put themselves in harm’s way to defend our country. In conjunction with this special WWP IGA brand water promotion, IGA retailers are planning store and community events for this summer that will recognize and honor these heroes. In addition to creating awareness about WWP, IGA hopes to raise over $100,000 for WWP as a result of the national campaign.

IGA includes 5,000 Hometown Proud Supermarkets worldwide, supported by 36 distribution companies and more than 55 major manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers known as IGA's Red Oval Family partners. IGA has operations in 46 of the United States and more than 40 countries, commonwealths, and territories.
