Milwaukee’s Glorioso’s to Celebrate 67 Years

Milwaukee-based independent Glorioso’s Italian Market will celebrate its 67th year this coming Valentine’s Day with cooking classes, visits from its owners, and free cake for shoppers.

Glorioso’s opened on Valentine’s Day 1946, with brothers Joe, Eddie and Ted at the helm. Joe and Ted still own the business today and one or both of them can be found in the store 7 days a week.

Both a neighborhood grocer and a specialty food “destination,” the store, which was remodeled two years ago, offers a vast selection of Italian and other specialty foods in approximately 10,000 square feet of space. The store also features a full-service delicatessen, extensive specialty cheese, wine, olive oil and pasta departments, and a variety of genuine Italian products.

Among the celebratory festivities in honor of the store’s 67 years will be a Winter Wine & Food Event, Feb. 13; truffle workshops, Feb. 14-15; and free cake and visits with the owners on Feb. 14.
