PGI Names Outstanding Independent Retailers

2/4/2015

Leaders can distinguish themselves in a variety of ways, and this year’s Progressive Grocer Independent’s Outstanding Independents are a diverse group that uses a multitude of methods to succeed.

The biggest aren’t always the ones on top, as the Outstanding Independents prove. They are managing to foster relationships in their communities and come out on top of their markets, using a variety of strategies to put them head and shoulders above the competition. Whether it’s employing an app that allows customers to scan products as they shop, installing energy-saving lighting to reduce their carbon footprint, or decorating the dairy department like a barn, this year’s crop of winners knows how to reach their target consumers.

The winners are some of the best in the nation in the category in which they are honored and all offer valuable ideas that can be applied to retailers of any size or in any region.

This year’s winners were honored last night at the NGA Show in Las Vegas, and will be featured in the February issue of Progressive Grocer Independent.

Congratulations to this year’s winners!
