Rosauers Supermarkets Launches Grocery Delivery

Rosauers Supermarket introduced its own grocery-delivery service, Rosauers Delivers, the first in the Spokane, Wash., market, according to President/CEO Jeff Philipps. “Everybody wants to be convenience business and that means delivery,” Philipps said in the Spokane Journal. “We wanted to be first in the market, rather than trailing somebody else who might be first the market.”

The service is available from three of Rosauers nine Spokane area stores and will deliver within a three-mile radius of the store. More stores may be added if demand warrants it, Philipps noted. Delivery is available on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with customers choosing a two-hour window; each store can make up to 27 deliveries a day. Customers order groceries through RosauersDelivers.com, with all products in the store available for online orders, and pricing is consistent with store prices although online shoppers pay a $9.95 delivery fee.

Previously, Rosauers had partnered with another service, Delivery Boy, which delivered groceries in the Spokane market.

Rosauers Supermarket operates 22 stores in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana with 2,000 employees.
