Russ’s Market Donates $1.5K From Donuts

On Donut Day, Russ’s Market raised almost $1,500 through the sale of donuts and donations to help support local Salvation Army organizations. The Lincoln, Neb.-based stores donated 5 cents from every donut sold on June 6 from the Lincoln and Hastings stores, which amounted to $919.15. The stores sold four glazed donuts for $1.

The Salvation Army also supplied bell ringers and red kettles at the stores, which accumulated $569.50 in donations. Donut Day celebrates Salvation Army volunteers who gave donuts to the troops during World War I.

“The Salvation Army provides important programs for our community, and we’re glad to join our customers in supporting the organization with our Donut Day celebration at Russ’s Market,” said Pat Raybould, president of B&R Stores, in a local report.
