Seattle's Metropolitan, Bartell to Host Seahawks Rally

Seattle's Metropolitan Market and Bartell Drugs will host a rally at their West Seattle corporate offices on Thursday, Jan. 30, in support of the Seahawks competing in the Big Game. The locally owned and operated companies will also raise the world's largest No. 12 flag in honor of the team's retired No. 12 jersey. At 30 by 50 feet, the massive icon will fly throughout the weekend.

The rally, which starts at 10:30 a.m., is open to the public and Metropolitan Market and Bartell Drugs officials expect more than 400 fans to attend the event. The flag will be raised at 11 a.m. by former Seattle Super Bowl team member Robbie Tobeck and local sports legend Jack Thompson.

Metropolitan Market Catering will be serving mini cupcakes, meatballs and additional football fare; Bartell Drugs will be serving the refreshments.

The event can be followed on Twitter at #THE12thFlag or on the Metropolitan Market Facebook page, through which Seahawks fans can also enter a contest to win $500 worth of party supplies.

Metropolitan Market operates six stores in Western Washington.
