United Supermarkets Awards $20K Monopoly Prize

United Supermarkets awarded lucky customer Karen Fogg with $20,000 for her son’s college tuition for playing Monopoly’s Collect and Win Game. The promotion kicked off Feb. 3 and ran through May 3.

Fogg began playing the Monopoly game in February and had just finished shopping with her son for dorm supplies when she was given two Monopoly tickets by a fellow customer in the Soncy Road store’s parking lot. One of those tickets included the remaining two tabs she needed to complete the $20,000 college tuition prize.

“This doesn’t happen to people like me, but it did,” said Fogg. “I’ve played Monopoly for many years, but have never dreamt of actually winning. I don’t generally have the gift of good luck, but I’ll never be saying that again!”

Fogg’s son attends Texas A&M University and had she not had a need for the college tuition prize, she would have found someone in need who could have used it.
