Woods Supermarket Acquires 3 Paul’s Supermarkets

Woods Supermarket, based in Bolivar, Mo., is purchasing all three Paul’s Supermarkets in Eldon, Osage Beach and Lake Ozark, Mo. Woods currently operates one store in the Lake of the Ozarks region in Sunrise Beach. The stores will be converted to the new banner by the end of the month.

“We are excited to welcome all Paul’s customers and other East lake area residents to our three new Woods locations and introduce them to our ‘Solid Woods’ Quality, Service and Value,” said Craig Easter, CEO of Woods Supermarket.

The acquisition by Woods will continue the family-owned and -operated tradition of Paul’s, which began in 1968 when Paul and Ruth Hermann opened their first store in Eldon. Gary Hermann, Paul and Ruth’s son and current owner of the stores, thanked the customers and members of the staff for their loyalty. “I hope our current customers will continue to shop the new Woods Supermarkets. You will find all your friendly, former Paul’s staff there to serve you and a company that really delivers quality, service and value,” Hermann said.

The first Woods Supermarket opened in 1947 in Long Lane, Mo., by Don Woods Sr. and his wife Bertha. With the addition of the Paul’s locations, Woods Supermarkets will operate 12 stores, with 11 in Missouri and one in Kansas.
