Ahold USA Fresh Formats EVP Bhavdeep Singh to Resign

Ahold USA EVP for Fresh Formats Bhavdeep Singh will resign from the Carlisle, Pa.-based company, in the first executive move to occur since the intention of parent company Ahold and fellow retail conglomerate Delhaize to merge was revealed last month. Since 2011, Singh has led Ahold USA's human resources, operations and fresh formats teams.

"It has been a real pleasure working with Bhavdeep over the last four and a half years, and we thank him for setting the fresh formats team up for success," said Ahold COO James McCann. "Personally, I wish him every success in his future endeavors."

SVP of Operations Scott Miller will head up the fresh formats team until a permanent replacement is found.

Part of Ahold, a Dutch-based international food retailing group, Ahold USA supports four regional Divisions – Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro, Giant Landover, and Giant Carlisle – that operate about 770 supermarkets with 115,000 associates in 14 states and the District of Columbia, along with e-grocer Peapod.
