Kroger Names Anne Gates to Board

The Kroger Co. has named Anne Gates, president of toy manufacturer MGA Entertainment Inc., to the grocer's board of directors.

"We are delighted to welcome Anne to Kroger," said Rodney McMullen, Kroger's chairman and CEO. "Anne's broad expertise in consumer products and strategy will be a tremendous asset to Kroger's Board and our shareholders."

Prior to her role at MGA, Gates served with the Walt Disney Co. from 1992-2012, including as EVP, managing director, and CFO for Disney Consumer Products, as well as SVP of operations, planning and analysis. She has also worked with PepsiCo and Bear Stearns.

Cincinnati-based Kroger operates 2,620 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 34 states and the District of Columbia under two dozen local banner names including Kroger, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry's, Harris Teeter, Jay C, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith's.
