Kroger Ratifies Toledo-area Labor Contract

Pay increases, health care and pension fund investments are among the provisions in The Kroger Co.'s latest labor agreement for union associates at its stores in the Toledo, Ohio area.

Associates working at Toledo-area stores in Kroger's Columbus Division have ratified new labor agreements with United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 75. The contracts cover 3,276 associates working in 26 stores.

"We are pleased to reach agreements that are good for our associates. These agreements provide wage increases, affordable health care and investment in our associates' pension fund to support their retirement," said Bruce Macaulay, president of Kroger's Columbus Division. "These agreements come after thoughtful and productive work by both the company and union bargaining committees. I want to thank our associates for supporting the agreements and for the excellent service they provide to our customers every day."

Cincinnati-based Kroger employs more than 375,000 associates who serve customers in 2,638 supermarkets and multidepartment stores in 34 states and the District of Columbia under two dozen local banner names including Kroger, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry's, Harris Teeter, Jay C, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith's.
