Golub Corp. Promotes 2 Execs

The Golub Corp., parent of Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets, has promoted two senior executives “to better align functional areas of the company as it moves forward,” according to the Schenectady, N.Y.-based grocer.

Blaine Bringhurst has been named EVP marketing, merchandising and store operations, in which capacity he will oversee marketing, merchandising, advertising and store operations. Having joined the company in 2012 as SVP for sales, merchandising and marketing, Bringhurst previously spent 31 years at Minneapolis-based Supervalu in various roles regarding store operations and merchandising.

In his new role of EVP administration, Leo Taylor will continue to lead human resources but will add responsibility for information technology, distribution, engineering, real estate, public relations and consumer services. Taylor came to Price Chopper/Market 32 in 2014 with 35 years of retail and customer service experience under his belt, most recently at Dunkin Donuts National DCP, where he held senior roles in human resources and administration, ultimately becoming COO.

The Golub Corp. owns and operates 136 Price Chopper and Market 32 grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Golub’s 20,000 employees collectively own more than 47 percent of the company’s privately held stock, making it one of the nation’s largest privately held corporations that is predominantly employee-owned.
