Aldi Ramping Up Fla. Presence

Aldi, which already has about 1,200 stores in 32 U.S. states, has revealed plans to expand its presence in Florida, according to published reports.

In more than 35 hiring events being held across the state through the end of next month, the Batavia, Ill.-based chain, whose corporate headquarters is in Essen, Germany, aims to hire at least 200 new associates, including cashiers, shift managers and manager trainees.

By the end of this year, Aldi plans to operate a total of 56 limited-assortment stores in Florida, among them new ones in Kissimmee, Orlando and West Palm Beach, The Miami Herald reported.

An Aldi spokeman told PG that Kissimmee store would open in October, with the other two bowing the following month.
