Allegiance Makes Organizational Changes

Allegiance Retail Services LLC has changed its organizational structure to bolster ongoing company growth by dividing the merchandising function into two distinct groups: perishables and center store.

In keeping with the restructuring, the Iselin, N.J.-based retail cooperative has made the following promotions:

Dean Holmquist (upper left), formerly director of produce, has been promoted to VP-perishables. In his new role, Holmquist will be responsible for meat, produce, deli, seafood, bakery and floral.

Steve Hungerbuhler (upper right), formerly director of dairy, deli and bakery, has been promoted to VP-center store, in which capacity he’ll be responsible for grocery, dairy, DSD, frozen and GM/HBC.

Reporting directly to Hungerbuhler, John Aleksandrowicz (lower left), who was recently promoted to director of grocery, has added GM/HBC to his responsibilities.

Jeff Kluck (lower right) has been promoted to the position of manager-dairy and also reports directly to Hungerbuhler.

“These changes will enhance our current merchandising operations and will effectively position Allegiance to continue to accommodate new member growth,” said Michael Stolarz, the company’s president and COO.

Allegiance provides its independent retailer members with marketing, advertising, technological and operational support, in addition to a full line of Foodtown private label products.
